Missions

God created us for this: to live our lives in a way that makes him look more like the greatness and the beauty and the infinite worth that he really is.

John Piper – Don’t Waste Your Life

Everyone has a story to tell. At the heart of ministry in whatever capacity is a story of sin acknowledged, grace received, and redemption and eternal life offered through the saving blood of Jesus Christ. Every follower of Christ has a story to tell. What’s yours?

Where our story begins is where the saving and victorious blood of Christ takes over….it is not really our story after all. It is God’s redemptive story for all mankind and it is for us to tell…Matthew 28:18-20….”Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Missions at First Baptist is about heeding the call to share God’s story of grace, mercy and love. FBCMH has a long history of supporting local and international ministries and we welcome your involvement….we want to hear your story. Please take a moment to look at what we’re doing across the street and around the world and join us in this great work. Our stories complement each other and blend into a colorful mosaic of Christ’s message of good news to the world.

Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved … For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve”

(1 Corinthians 15:1-5).
