These Things I Believe – by Pastor Ned Flexer
· I believe in the triune God of the Bible, who is eternally one God in three persons. The one true God is most clearly revealed in the Incarnate Son, Jesus Christ the Lord, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin.
· I believe the Good News of the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, knowing that salvation (forgiveness of sin, release from guilt and condemnation, reconciliation with God) and eternal life are granted in grace to all who trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. This Gospel is the central message of the Bible.
· I believe that the Bible, composed of Old and New Testaments, is the divinely inspired Word of God, the final written authority and trustworthy for faith and practice. It is to be interpreted responsibly, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit within the community of faith. Its primary purpose is to point to salvation in Christ alone.
· I believe that God is Sovereign over all and that this sovereignty is expressed and realized in Jesus Christ. Therefore, I affirm and cherish the Lordship of Christ over the world and the church and joyously confess that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Lord.
· As a Christian and a minister of the Gospel, I am called to proclaim, with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the Good News of God’s reconciling grace to every human being and every human institution.
· My call from God is the most sacred trust I hold in my heart. With God’s continuing help and strength, I will do nothing to jeopardize my witness for Christ or lessen His power and authority over my life.
· I believe that the church, His Body, is called together to enjoy Him and to share the amazing news of His love to all the world, beginning in our homes and our communities.
